Q: Considering buying a 2009/2010 Toyota Corolla- advice please?
We are moving overseas and are allowed to take a brand new car with us (must be new.) It must also have a 1.8 engine - otherwise we have to pay a major fee. We are considering the 2009/2010 Toyota Corolla but are confused about all the recalls etc. Should we forget about purchasing the car? I am hoping for replies from people who understand the mechanics involved so we can make an educated decision. A friend of ours who has a dealership (not a toyota dealership) says the problems are overstated and that is has something to do with the company trying to get money to transition into making electric cars. But- I know we lost a family out here in the Bay Area due to acceleration problems in August. Help!

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here - carquotes.sinfree.net

Q: I just bought a new 2010 Toyota Corolla Sport and it's driving strangely...?
I did test drive it, but we only went on smooth roads, so I didn't really get to see how it handled. I bought it brand new. I've been driving it and been noticing that it doesn't drive as smooth as I thought it would and it doesn't accelerate as well or as fast and I thought it would, either. It's an automatic so I'm guessing it won't be as smooth as a standard, but are you supposed to feel the car buck when you accelerate fast and it swicthes gears quickly? I heard that there's a recall on 2010 Toyota Corolla Sports because the brakes will slide but not in Massachusetts because "it doesn't get cold enough." (yeah, right) I don't know if it's just my imagination or my lack of knowledge about vehicles, but is there something wrong with it? My friend also told me that when you buy a new car, it doesn't perform that great until you break it in and you drive over 5000 miles. Is that true?

A: Yeah what you said is true, but kinda strange shouldn't happen to cars these days. Drive it until it breaks 1,000 at least, minimum 500 and go for longer drives, get the engine use to the heavy driving that could possibly bring its power back up. And try driving it without the AC, usually every car tends to run faster when the AC is off. If you still think that its not performing fast than your engine isn't mounted properly.

Q: 2010 toyota corolla S trunk light bulb?
i am looking for a new light bulb for my trunk, but i would like it to be a black light, you kno like the purple UV lights. but i cannot find them anywhere and i am told they are made. can anyone help me out?

A: you would have to completely rewire the trunk and it would disable your immobilizer/alarm system and if you have a computer it would keep telling you you have a faulty lamp. you can wire it in as an accessory but not instead of the light.

Q: Is the 2010 Toyota Corolla S a good Car?
Okay so my dad bought me a brand new 2010 Corolla S and I've driven it like 2 times because its a Manuel and I'm still learning how to drive. I'm 18 would it be a good car for me or not? I really like the exterior and interior. And I'd want to know why its a good car. I've searched online but i really don't see any reviews or anything. Is it because its not popular (not a good car) Or is it too new???

A: Wow you are so lucky. The Corollas are very popular and very reliable. The trim S looks sporty:)

Q: Speed Governor on 2010 Toyota Corolla S?
Does anybody happen to know how to remove/disable it? Brand new car and nobody on the track is able to help yet, therefore I am trying all avenues. Please don't answer with lectures on street racing and idiots in fast cars, because this is going to be my purely track car. Can't get correct stock specs with the governor in though.

A: hahaha ur trying to race with a toyota hahahaha thats a granny car and will fall apart in 2 months buy a real car like corvette, mustang, challenger, charger or a camaro

Q: New 2010 Toyota Corolla. Even when the AC is turned off, cold air still comes from the vents. Why is this?

A: My 2001 Corolla does it too.....it's just the car's ventilation system. There's still air conditioned air in the ductwork and the a/c box where the fan is located. After a few minutes, you'll notice the warms up a bit,but it will still be cool until you move the temperature knob to the hot postion, the it will take hot air from the engine compartment.

Q: 1999 Toyota Solara Vs. 2010 Toyota Corolla, What differences might one find in the driving experience?
I am considering trading my older much larger 1999 Toyota Solara (V6) --for a smaller more fuel efficient brand new Toyota Corolla. I drive a lot of freeway and interstate highways at 70+ mph. My Solara is smooth, quiet, powerful, and in utter control of the road at almost any speed. Will the smaller Corolla provide the same experience for me, or will it be a major down grade in my interstate highway driving experience? My friends have told me the difference between Solara and Corolla is like night and day, and have suggested to me that I will never be satisfied with a Corolla after driving a Solara for over 10 years. Do you think they are right? I will be buying a new car soon, and need to know your opinions...THAN YOU ALL!

A: The Corolla does not have the power of the Solara and it takes time to pass other vehicle on the road if you are traveling at 70 MPH. Look at the Corolla S model, it is a little sporty in looks and does provide you with good control of the road. The corolla has all the safety features that your Solara does not have such as Vehicle Stability Control, Brake Assist, Electronic Brake distribution force, Anit lock brake, 6 air bags. And it sures get better gas mileage than you Solara. I do own a 2007 Corolla have have driven it at long distance, San Diego to San Francisco. Hope this will help.

Q: 2010 Toyota Corolla LE, got a price quote at 17,200?
They told me the sticker price was 18600 and the invoice was 16900. Is this a good price? I can also get the 1000 off for being a student and qualified for the 0% financing. My only confusion is why the sticker was 18600 when I only wanted a standard LE. I feel like the car had some options in it that they didn't tell me about.

A: At 18600 the vehicle must have options. There is no such thing as a "standard Le" all Toyota's have options on them. 6 disc cd player , cold weather package, floor mats, etc. Call you dealer and comfirm. With 0% you can't be pickying. You need to choose from what is left over. The dealer has offered you a great price. You should buy before 0% expires.

Q: Should I buy the Hyundai Accent 2009 or the Toyota Corolla 2010?
I've asked a few questions before and have constantly researched and test driven a few cars. I have narrowed it down to the Hyundai Accent 3 Door GS Hatchback 2009 and the Toyota Corolla S 2010 for various reasons. I like the Corolla for reliability but I also like the Accent because it fits my budget a bit easier. The Accent is easier on the wallet and has plenty of options to tack on and I figured that it would be about $4500 in savings and has a decent look about it. It has a great warranty but a bad resale value and poor crash test ratings. I am also not to sure how the reliability is for the Accent as I prefer not to spend to much time at the dealership waiting for them to fix many problems. I can get this car for 13800 (1500 rebate included) with tax included. The Corolla S is cheaper then the car I wanted initially, the Civic EX 2009 and comes with Toyota's reputation for quality. I like the Corolla's look and the EPS wheel wasn't as bad as I thought it was with all the complaints about it. I would get the Corolla S for 18200 with tax included. Anyone have any experience with these models that can give me some helpful advice on which one to buy? Thanks in advance.

A: the Corolla is superior the accent has poor acceleration and crash-test results, the optional ABS is hard to find and ESC stability control is not available

Q: are the 2010 toyota corolla sports all wheel drive?

A: Nope. They are all front wheel drive.

Q: 2010 Toyota Corolla OR 2010 Mazda3 i-Sport 4 dr?
I know the smiley face design for the Mazda in the front is a little annoying, so I'm planning on getting it in a darker color so the smile blends in-- maybe in graphic mica or black mica.

A: Depends on what you looking for to get out of car.. Speed? Performance? Cheaper maintenance?

Q: 2010 Toyota Corolla LE Canada back seat question?
I am going to get custom leather seat cover for this vehicle I brought back in Edmonton Canada in Aug 2009 but I am outside the country right now. Retailer here need to know that if all Toyota sold in Canada are made in Canada or import from Japan? Is the front seat and back seat follow the American standard or Japanese standard? Apparently they have different dimension. All I can remember is backseat can be fold down and it is divided 60/40. I can't remember fine details such as: Is there a folder-able arm rest in the middle of the back seat? Is there any headrest in the backseat? If there is. How many are there? Are they removable? If the front headrest removable? Does anyone know the extract dimension of the front seats and back seat? I don't have my user's manual with me and I didn't drive the car long enough to remember all those details. Thanks very much for the help.

A: well you could always call a dealership and ask them. but no for sure they are not imported from japan. they have a few corolla factories in north america and i know atleast one is here in ontario. so for sure they'll follow the american dimensions.
