Q: Toyota Corolla CE 2006 install Remote Keyless system?
have a 2006 Toyota Corolla CE. It doesn't have a remote keyless entry. Is it possible to installed on this? If anyone knows how much the cost would be , please let me know. also, if i need to buy a 'keyless system', which one is the best for 06 Corolla? Thanks!
A: Hi, it is possible to install the keyless entry into a car with manual door locks. I received had my Corolla installed with it. I recommend you get a professional to install it as it is complex and can damage your car if done wrong. Corolla 2003+ are using cabling system links for the door which involves a special adapter to splice the cable and hold them down. Usually they will charge about 40-50 dollars for each actuator and install. I'm not really sure what is considered the best for it, but make sure you ask about warranty so they will hand anything that is wrong with it.
Q: I am having 2006 Toyota Corolla CE Automatic. What features I should look in remote starter ?
I need to have guideline before buying a remote starter. I am also looking for other options because installation charges are 147$/Hr and may take 3-4 hrs for installation. so, will cost me approx. 750$ in total. so, looking for cheaper alternatives.
A: There are many options for remote starters.
Most aftermarket places charge a flat rate to do it and not by the hour.
If they say they charge by the hour walk away.
Avarage price around me for keyless remote start is $199

Q: Can I upgrade my Toyota corolla CE 2006 to power windows and power door lock?
A: YOU CAN UPGRADE TO POWER DOOR LOCKS AND POWER WINDOWS IF YOU HAVE ABOUT $6000.00 TO SHED.THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS TO GO TO AN ALARM PLACE AND HAVE AFTERMARKET DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS INSTALLED FOR LESS THAN $300.00.I DON'T KNOW IF THEY COULD DO THE SAME FOR POWER WINDOWS THOUGH.
Q: I have a 2006 toyota corolla CE The key has a 'chip' that is required to start the car. I lost the key.
$100.00 for a spare wasn't doable when I inquired about it, & now $300.00 is definately not doable for a key. My question is, can I replace the ignition itself & bypass what the chip does to start the car. It seems to me a new ignition would be cheaper than either of the above options I cannot do. Anyone got ANY advice? The car is at the mall right now & may be ok for a couple days with security but I gotta move it. What I'm thinkin is cancel the check for the payment and let toyota pick it up since they only gave me one key in the first place. Does anyone else think that's wrong for a dealership to do on a sale? I do.
A: Others are correct in that it is impossible to do away with the immobilizer system, as it is integral with the engine computer. You cannot bypass the system without a key that is properly programmed, which brings you back where you started. I am also assuming you have just bought it. Being an '06, I imagine the car was Certified. If so, part of the certification process guaranteed by Toyota is the inclusion of 2 master keys (black handles) and 1 valet key (grey handle). In order for it to be Certified, they HAVE to give you the keys. Once you have them, put one of the Masters away. In order to program more keys as necessary in the future, you must have one of the Master Keys. Don't worry, they can erase the keys currently in your computer and start over, and they definitely owe that to you. If the dealership gives you a hassle over the keys, contact Toyota at 800-331-4331. Trust me, they will work with you to see you stay in that car and that you are happy.
Q: how qts of oil are needed for an oil change for a 2006 toyota corolla ce?
A: With a filter,4 quarts,if you need more after 4,add more.Alwyas change your oil filter though. It's cheap insurance, since they only cost a few dollars. My 2001 corolla has the same engine, and sometimes it needs 4 1/2,that's cause more oil dripped out of the upper part of the engine than previous times. It's the 1.8 L and I always buy 5 quarts just so I know I'll have enough, and in case I need to add any between oil changes.

Q: What's the difference between a "CE" and "LE" in a 2006 Toyota Corolla?
Does anybody know the difference between a "CE" and "LE" in a 2006 Toyota Corolla?
A: CE is the econ-version. LE is the luxury edition. The LE will have many more options as far as interior, sound and what have you. The CE is your basic plain Jane run of the mill car.
Q: Upgrade my car(Toyota corolla Ce 2006)?
I want to make it faster and more efficient, is it possible?
I would like some tips too. Thanks
kinda like a 10 second car
A: In reality, it is impoessible to make it more fuel efficient and faster at the same time. What most people fail to understand is that when a car is designed, the manufacturer spends millions of dollars on R&D to find the perfect balance between performance and efficiency. When you buy a car, it is the best balanced of those qualities. Want faster? lose efficiency and vice versa. Those cars easily get over 40 mpg on the highway and the acceleration is actually pretty good for a small car. What more could you want?
Q: My 2006 Toyota Corolla Check light comes on?
My 2006 Toyota Corolla CE has 84,000 miles. I had an oil change 2 weeks ago. One day after the oil change, the check light comes on. During that time, the light comes on some days during driving, and some days, it doesn't come on at all. Everytime the light comes on, the car jerks when accelerating. I drive most on high way (500 mile on every weekend). I drive local during weekdays about 50 miles each week. I go to the dealer to change my engine oil everytime as scheduled. I went to see the Toyota dealer, they told me I have to replace the ECU, and it cost $860. Since my miles are over 80,000, I don't have any warranty. Can any experts tell me what should I do?
A: My first piece of advice is to take your car to Advance Auto or AutoZone. If your check engine light is on, they have diagnostic tools that can check why the light is on. If they agree with the dealer that replacing the ECU is the only way to go, then you might have to get it done. Either way, shop around. The dealer is often the most expensive place to get car work done, and I would not go there unless you had to. Call around, see how much other places are going to charge you for the same work and go with something cheaper. Either way, wait for a second opinion on the ECU because that is not a cheap fix.
Q: Do any of you own a Toyota Corolla S ? I was wondering if they are good little cars?
I want to trade my Toyota Corolla 2006 CE for a Toyota Corolla S 2007. Thank You.
A: I have a Corolla LE. There are little differences, but nothing major. If you're going to trade it, go for the LE with power everything, sunroof, cd player, etc. The S just has a spoiler and a little mini body kit on it.
Overall, though, trading it is not a good idea. You lose so much money in the trade. I've had my car (bought brand new) since 2001, and almost traded it in 02 when the new style corolla came out, but didn't. Now it's paid off and Im sure glad I didn't have an extra years worth of car payments just to have a different body style!
Stick with your car for now. And when you want to upgrade, get a Lexus- not a step up on your Corolla.
Good luck!
Q: Does a 2006 Toyota Corolla with automatic transmission have a transmission drain plug?
2006 Corolla CE, AT.
Well I just bought the car and had a chance to look. Yes it does have a drain plug. Most automatic transmissions DO NOT have a drain plug, you have to drop the whole pan to change the fluid/filter. I spoke with the service guy at the dealership when I bought some Toyota ATF. He said that this transmission is different because it has a drain plug and has NO filter. It only has a mesh, which is cleaned by the reverse flow of fluid when you pull the plug. A total flush is recommended when it is needed, but pulling the plug drains 3.2-3.3 quarts, total capacity is 8 quarts, so draining the pan removes 41% of the fluid. By doing an easy drain and fill every 20k miles, you keep your fluid twice as clean.
A: Look under the transmission's pan. Your better off flushing it out since simply draining the pan only gets about 25% of the fluid out!!!!!!!!
