Q: Is my 2005 Toyota Corolla CE dying...?
For the past 4days i've had to get my car jump started, had the battery & alternater checked at AutoZone & both are Great according to the machine they used to check it, they suggested to me that i have the starter removed and tested. Once the car is boosted its fine for the duration of the day until it sits overnite. What could be draining the battery?? Any & all suggestions on what to do next GREATLY APPRECIATED.....thanx

A: OK if the Battery & Alternatot are "So they Say???" Then you have a Bad Door, Trunk or Under Hood Light switch! "Yeah Doesn't sound right to me either!! Go to a "Good Auto-Electric Shop" and Remove the Battery and have it Fully Charged then "Load Tested" for 15 Seconds at 50% off CCA, the Battery shuld not Drop Below 9.6 Volts during the Test, showing that the Battery will Take and Hold a Charge Almost new Batteries Are Bad and Fail the Test sometimes!). Next Have them Remove and "Load Test" the Alternator to Make sure the Amperage Output is as Set for that Alternator, Low Amp output means Bad Diode(s) and the Alternator is Draining the Battery. OK Have then do a "Draw Test" on the Starter just to make sure it's good.

Q: 2005 Toyota Corolla 4dr CE Manual. 80,000. Great condition. Clean title. What would you pay before tax/title?
I am aware of KBB and Nada. Those guides are estimates and themselves admit that the buyer will usually pay less than they have listed. I am wondering what a reasonable person should pay for it.

A: 8 to 10k

Q: AutoZone Troubleshooting on a 2005 Toyota Corolla CE/LE Sedan?
Definition 88Pressure control solenoid D electrical fault 88(SSU SLT) Probable causes 881-Open or short circuit condition 882-Poor electrical connection 883-Failed Shift Solenoid Valve SLT Check Engine light went on for a week, went off for two weeks, Light came back on, got an oil change and new spark plugs, light went off for one day. Check Engine light does not go off at all so I went to AutoZone to get a print out of the problem. The car "jerks" hard most (not all) the times I feel it move into what I would call 2nd and 3rd, no other issues, sounds or smells. Help!

A: There is a programming software update that addresses this issue but can only be done at a dealer with the $6000 laptop and access to the factory website. The good news is that it is warrantable for 8 years or 80,000 miles. Call your nearest dealer for an appointment and inspection and if you are under that mileage, it will be at no charge to you. Good Luck--T&T

Q: Does the '05 Toyota Corolla have an auxiliary audio jack?
I have a 2005 Toyota Corolla CE and I've been trying to find the auxiliary audio jack but can't seem to find it. Is there one? I've bought the ones that you put in the power outlets but I'm just wondering if there is one already built in.

A: Nope. Sorry. =(

Q: Corolla CE central Lock installation options?
Hi, I've recently purchased 2005 Toyota corolla CE. It's pretty basic model. It does not have central locking and each door has to be locked separately. Is there any way I can install central locking system in CE? I searched on net but did not get any definitive answer And if available, what would be the approx. cost of it? Thanks

A: I'm not sure if you can, but if it is possible I think it's pretty expensive. I read about a person who had a Corolla LE and their lock system broke, and it would be around $2000 to fix. So I'm guessing it'd probably be close to the same to have it installed.

Q: hail damaged 2005 corolla..52k miles..worth $7800?? help me decide please?
I was looking to buy a used car. I am a looking for something I would use for atleast next 3-4 yrs..I found a used 2005 toyota corolla CE which has 52k miles on it..the seller is selling it for $7800..when I checked the value in kbb..it quotes that the vehicle is worth $10k plus. the car has some hail damage on it..its wind sheild/all the glass etc is perfect. only on the body. is it worth buying this vehicle. worth it? Thanks in advance everyone

A: They have a method for removing hail damage that isn't that costly. See what they would charge. We have had some hail storms and they come in and set up a mobil shop to fix hail damage.

Q: How much does a Toyota Corolla fuel pump generally cost?
My 2005 Corolla CE broke down just outside of Canadian Tire. They say it's the fuel pump and it will cost $816 just for the part. That sounds like an awfully large amount of money. Is that usual for a fuel pump? I am in Ontario, Canada.

A: $816!!! What a joke. lol EFI Fuel Pumps are worth about $50-$250 (Max) Aus dollars. Anything over $450 including labour is a Joke and go elsewhere.

Q: Why does my 2005 Corolla CE hesitate every time I accelerate and hit around 40 mph?
My 2005 Corolla CE has automatic transmission. Every time my car hits 30-40 mph it hesitates and vibrates a little when accelerating into the next gear, and it continues to do this the faster I go. I am going to bring it into a Toyota service center to have it looked at. I was hoping to have an idea as to what the problem might be beforehand so I seem like an educated car owner. I am a 27 yr old female and sometimes I feel like mechanics take advantage of the fact that I might not know a lot about cars. I would just like to go in there knowing at least a few options as to what might be wrong with my vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A: You could have low automatic transmission fluid,or your air filter may be plugged. It's hard to tell for sure without a mechanic putting a machine on it,but usually if there's anything sensor related or internally wrong with the engine or transmission,it will make the check engine light come on,so it's probably something simple.

Q: Disconnecting Seat belts buzzer on `05 Corolla.?
Is it possible to disconnect the seat belts buzzer on a 2005 Toyota Corolla CE, it`s getting on my nerves... How can you do that. Anyone here can help me?? Help from Toyota mechanics will be greatly appreciated.

A: its there for a reason...

Q: What should I do about buying a new car?
I bought a used 2005 Toyota Corolla CE last month for around 14,000 total and it came with 64,000 miles on it. I'm considering now trading this one in and getting a new Corolla with 0 miles since the price range isn't much of a difference. Around how much could I get for it at the dealer? And how will the financing go if I do trade it in and get a brand new one? Will my credit score be affected at all?

A: Well, you have a problem. About the best you can hope to get from a dealer is going to be $10,000, and that is if it is in truly excellent condition, AS DETERMINED BY THE DEALER. So, that leaves you about $4000 in the hole to start with, and then you buy a new one at about $17,350, plus the $4,000 you owe on the other note, for a total of about $21,350, before taxes, title, and dealer prep fees, which would probably put you up around $22,000, or so. All the sudden, that $14,000 car is costing you about $8,000 more than what you had planned on. I'm sure that if you had great credit, and could stretch the payments WAAAAY out, you might get the payment down around the same amount as the other one. But you have to ask yourself, is it REALLY worth it to have a car that is two model years newer? You asked about your credit rating. Well, when you owe more money, with the same income as before, your debt ratio goes down, so your credit score will go down, too, MORE THAN LIKELY. On the positive side, you will be eligible for any rebates or special deals and incentives with the new one, so it might actually not cost quite you so much. My advice, and it is probably worth exactly what you are paying for it, is to drive the 2005 until the wheels fall off and then think about another car - unless you just can't stand the 2005. Then you are pretty well stuck, aren't you? The average mileage for a 2005 Toyota Corolla is approximately 40,000 miles and you have 64,000 on yours. That will count heavily against you, and there is nothing you can do about that. Hope this helps, and hope you have a great day.

Q: How to hook up spoiler LED light to 3rd brake light?
I just installed an OEM style spoiler on my 2005 Toyota Corolla CE. I installed it, but I have no idea where to put the wires to make the LED brake light work on it. The instructions say a "pigtail" for the 3rd brake light is located in the trunk lid but I don't see anything. Can anyone tell me where they're supposed to go?

A: The back side of your tail lights are more than likely covered with carpet or some kind of trunk molding, look behind that,or up around the wheel wells for the pig tail

Q: Toyota Car Loan Equity?
Recently on November 14, 2007, I did the dumest shit in my life...Traded a negative equity old car in and got a 2005 Toyota Corolla CE with 17.49% Interest =l For 75 months My orginal amount finanacied was 17153.00 My schdeule payments is 380.31, which is around 28 stacks when it's all over with.... . . . I doubled my first payment..... I plan to do that every month How long will it take for me to pay if off? Should I let my amount owe get round $5000 than trade it in? How much will a 05' Toyota Corolla CE be worth in 3 - 4 years between 40 - 60 k/miles in perfect condition?

A: IF you were to double up every payment, you would pay it off in 2 years and 4 months, which reduces your interest paid to $3860.23. This is assuming you have a 75 month simple interest auto loan with no prepayment penalties. I will give you a link and you can email me if you have questions. http://www.bankrate.com/brm/auto-loan-calculator.asp?unroundedPayment=380.2349500430561&loanAmount=17275.00&nrOfYears=6.25&nrOfMonths=75&interestRate=17.49&startMonth=0&startDay=28&startYear=2008&monthlyPayment=380.23&monthlyAdditional=380&yearlyAdditional=0&yearlyAdditionalMonth=0&oneAdditional=0&oneAdditionalMonth=0&oneAdditionalYear=2008&paidOffDate=Apr+28%2C+2014&showAmort=Show%2FRecalculate+Amortization+Table

Q: is it safe to buy a used car at an auction?
Here is the story.. I want to get a used 2005 Toyota Corolla Ce at an auction for about $10,000. Is it safe to do so or it is better to go to the dealer and pay an extra $2000?

A: Yo Lolita Be careful here !! Auctions are notorious for being a "dumping ground" for problem cars !! The reason that they do such a brisk business is that this is a place that a lot of people who have knowledge and ability in the auto repair business go to pick up low dollar "parts cars" or "fixer uppers"--- they buy at low dollar EXPECTING to reinvest a certain amount to "shape the vehicle up " for a resell profit !! Advice here would be --- not to make any purchases at all through a vehicle auction unless you have the guidance of a truly good and honest mechanic or "car person" who can advise you on this matter and keep you steered clear of any noticably Bad Deals !! This alone would be worth paying someone like this a couple of hundred dollars to help you--- it might save you making a Major mistake !!!!
