The car has about 66,000 miles and has been properly maintained. I recently had an oil change. The tires are properly inflated and have less than 10,000 miles on them. It has NOT had a 60,000 mile tune-up yet though. What improvement could I expect with the tune-up? How much does one usually cost?

Q: 2001 toyota corolla ce 100K miles, $5000. Should i buy it? Help?
I found a car 2001 toyota corolla ce w/ 100K miles, $5000. Good-Cond. Should i buy it for this price? Help Thanks

A: Corollas are good 'lil cars. If it's in good condition and you like it, maybe you can talk the price down a bit. Aside from checking it out yourself, you want to ask for a service record, and even go online to some place like: http://www.carfax.com They will care a fee for the report, you find a real pearl, or a lemon. If the owner is reluctant to let you copy down the VIN for this, that could be a red flag Good luck.

Q: Toyota Corolla 2001 CE - where can I get low mileage Japanese import engines?
ZZ-FE1 engine I am in Inland Empire Cali. and want to swap the blown engine avoiding the American Run beaten engines. Also, how much should it roughly cost to buy one and labor to install?

A: www.jaydm.com www.asapmotors.com www.jasperengines.com/import-engines.htm www.jdmenginestogo.com www.jdmenginescorp.com TokyoMotorImports.com www.attarco.com www.osakajdmmotors.com and a million other, just search 'JDM engines' in yahoo or google. Then you can have your local mechanic install it for about $700. You will also get a discount if you have it shipped to their shop. Their engines also come with astart-up warranty and a 90 day or 5 thousand mile warranty (whichever is first) usually. I have gotten a million of these motors and they always are in great shape. You may even be able to make a hybrid, a car with a better engine from another car. Like one of the turbo charged engines from a Toyota Celica GT-IIII, they fit directly into your car with no mods. Ah, a turbo corolla. Kinda making things hard in the pants just thinking about it. Just kidding. But take your time and look around for a good one with a reputable name in business and you will be find. Happy searching!!!

Q: toyota corolla 2001 CE headlight question....?
We have toyota corolla 2001 CE model car. Some time back, i dont know how one of the headlight (GLASS) poped out and got missed. bulbs are perfectly all right and still working. So my question is .......is it possible to buy only glass and can we fix it at home or do we have to get changed whole thing ?

A: If it is the headlight assembly the outside protection should be made out of plastic, not glass. That entire assembly will need to be replaced since it is sealed from moisture to protect the headlight bulbs. You can order a replacement part from a junk yard, ebay, or direct from the dealer. they can replace it for you for $$ or you can try to replace it yourself... there is a link below to buy it online. You can have a local trusted mechanic replace it for you for much less than a toyota dealer assuming you buy and bring in the above part (make sure you order the part for the correct side of the car). just go in and ask for a quote...good luck! replacement assembly bought online cost $94 plus shipping: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/details/QQToyotaQQCorollaQQReplacementQQHeadlightQQ20012002QQ20-5961-00.html?reviews=true

Q: Toyota Corolla CE 2001 - can a more powerful engine be installed?
Is there an engine model other than the 1zz FE series that can fit the car's chassis without compromising structural integrity or transmission systems?

A: The 2zz from a Cellica GTS should fit without much alterations. You will need a new harness and ECU. It is a 180 HP 1.8L

Q: Toyota Corolla CE 2001-Automobile Guruz Strap up and give me your take on this...?
Make 2001 Corolla CE Symptoms: 1. Car has trouble starting in the morning...dies a couple of times before cranking up with the red battery light flashing. 2. Car may sometimes stall at a traffic stop before full warm up. 3. This one get's right under my skin...Cassette adaptor with CD player keeps shutting down. Shuts down about ten times in a row before the signal feed thru the smoke adaptor triggers the juice to get the CD Player going. 4. Red Engine Light on...barely able to make monthly payments..let alone a visit to a dealer for service.. Something to do with some subprime mortgage crisis and some San Diego wildfires..who knows... What's creating this misery in the car?

A: you have got one of two problems ... a dieing battery and or a dieing alternator. Try without the cd adaptor this is taking too much from your cars system... The alternator cannot cope with the extra power draw. Also if you leave the power adaptor in over night its contantly drawing power from your battery... you could also be shorting out the smoke as you call it adaptor. These cigarrete lighter sockets are notorious for failing... so I warn you get back to just using the cassettes and save your alternator.. also check to make sure your alternator belt is tight if its slipping then its not charging the battery hence the red light. or if its dying .... then the red light is on.. you can get the batterey and alternator checked at autozone or discount autospares for free......

my mom just bought corolla ce 2001, and she thought that every cars has car charge hole inclue in it. But it's doesnt on this freaky corolla.....how can she use GPS (for longtime), charging cell phone, or laptop? ortherwise,do that have some ways to connect the battery in car to charging small electronic stuff? hope u guys will help me out...thank so much

A: I know there has to be at least 1 cigarette lighter socket. And if you were planning to charge items like a laptop, you can get a AC alternator. They come in different wattage ( 75, 100, 200 ) and you can directly plug your household items into it. All you have to do is plug the alternator to the cigarette socket.
