Q: How many more miles can I get out of a 2001 Toyota Corolla S?
I have a toyota corolla S 2001 model. I bought it at $10,000 used at 65,000 with three previous owners or it was two don't remember. Yes over priced I know, but I needed a car then. I am currently now at 102,998 in miles. How many more miles can I get out of this car?
A: Toyotas run forever as long as you take care of them. My 85 tercel had 265,000 before i sold it, and that car still was getting 40 miles a gallon. If you have a 2001, just make sure u get the oil changed at least every 3,000 unless your using a sythetic blend or synthetic, then about every 5,000. get your regular tuneups(60k,90k, 120k) a second bonus, that car has a timing chain, so u dont have to worry about it snapping and stalling ur engine. i would say you can get at least another 100,000 out of it as long as you take care of it. I work at a toyota dealership, our parts truck is an 03 and has 285,000 on it and its still running like a champ. just maintain the car and it will take you far :)

Q: how do you desassemble the oil filter gide pin from a 2001 toyota corolla?
i was changing the oil to my 2001 toyota corolla and when i went to put buck on the oil filter one of the treads got damage and i did put the oil filter back but it went in side ways. i tightended good but still dripping a little drops of oil.
thanks.
A: First off, get a new one ready, then take out the oil filter and you should be able to twist it out using a wrench. Be more careful with the new one and use a new oil filter
Q: Does a 2001 Toyota Corolla need to have the timing belt changed?
Does a 2001 Toyota Corolla need to have the timing belt changed?
A: NO! Toyota timing belts are good for at least 15 years or more. Don't waste your money. Also, the shop will screw up your timing by doing a sloppy job and break something else that will show up mysteriously later, giving them another avenue to screw you over.
On a Toyota belt, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Toyota timing belts can break without damaging the engine. They are non-interference type. It is just best to drive the car until it breaks, then replace it.
Q: Where can I find a free 2001 toyota corolla serpentine belt diagram and instructions?
Where can I find a free 2001 toyota corolla serpentine belt diagram and instructions
AND INSTRUCTIONS!
A: You will need a 19mm box end wrench. Look at this diagram and you will see a 19mm nut in the tensioner area that you simply push/pull to allow for belt replacement. It is the only 19mm in that area.

Q: I need instructions to replace broken inside door handle on 2001 toyota corolla?
The inside door handle on my 2001 toyota corolla has cracked. The door still opens with the outside door handle. Is this a repair I can do by myself? Do I need to remove the door panel?

Go to either Kragen's or Pep Boys, ask for the Chilton Manual or Repair Manual for your car. It will have instructions, and even pics to follow.
Q: Where can I find a replacement ashtray for Toyota 2001 Corolla?
Where can I find a replacement ashtray for Toyota 2001 Corolla?
vacca74, thanks for the link. unfortunately, i need a black one. i'm not sure if the 1993 models will fit the 2001? should i take a chance?
thanks again. a link to craigslist/parts dealer would help.
A: Try searching @ late model wrecking yards, they have almost everything that is still good off of a totaled car... i go there first and almost never need a auto parts store...
Ask/ Call a few auto body shops ask them of any wrecking yards in your area.

Q: Does anybody know of a good online store that will sell the center console cover to a 2001 Toyota Corolla?
The cover is for the center console storage between driver and passenger seats of a 2001 Toyota Carolla with a grey interior. I have looked around ebay and other stores online with no luck. Maybe some of you more experienced online car part buyers out there can help me. I just need to find a place with resonable prices for the part and for shipping. Thanks!
Again, just to clarify, it is the cover/lid/armrest/whatever you want to call the thing that goes on the top and covers the storage area that I am looking for, not the whole center console.
A: Try a good search and keep trying ebay new parts are showing up all the time.
Q: How do I change dash lights on my 2001 Toyota Corolla?
I know there is a light bulb burned out on my Corolla, but I can't figure out how to get the dash off to change the bulb! The more detailed the answer, maybe I could figure it out. Thanks a million!
A: where is the light out is it in the Gauge cluster, or the center console? my guess is that it is in the cluster and to remove the cluster there is either 2 screws that go up into the dash that hold the cluster surround in place. once you take those 2 phillips screws out that cover will pop out. if there are no screws then you should be able to pretty much just pull on it and pop out of place. then you will see the screws that hold the actual cluster in place once you pull those screws out then you can pull out the cluster and unplug it dont worry about which plug goes where because they only plug in 1 way. then on the back side of the cluster you will see little slots or holes everywhere that there is a light bulb. the bulbs are cheap like $2 a piece at toyota dealer.
Q: do the 2001 Toyota corollas headlights, blinkers and bumper, fit on my 2000 Toyota corolla?
its crashed from the front and i want to fix it, but i like the way the 2001 corolla looks like, so instead of buying the 2000 Toyota corollas parts, i wanted to buy the 2001 Toyota corolla parts. but before i buy them i want to know if they will fit, everything on the car is egg-actly the same, except for the front
A: In a word ... No. Everything on the car is not exactly the same, they are different. Plastic bumpers are different, headlamp assemblies are different, etc. Here is a place where you can look at photos of both of the Corolla bumpers side-by-side:

1998, 1999 and 2000 Corolla parts will fit your 2000 Corolla.

Q: Why is my 2001 Toyota Corolla using 2 quarts of oil every 1,000 miles and how do I fix it?
I have 80,000 miles on the car. It does not burn oil. It does not leak oil. There is no oil on the driveway. The oil pressure is okay and everything seems to check out okay. Somehow the oil is escaping while I am driving, but there is no evidence of it. I do not see any oil dripping from the tailpipe while idling or after driving.
Thanks!
A: The pcv valve could be clogged. It's causing the crankcase to over pressureize and it's being forced into the cylinders, and it IS burining it,you're just not noticing it burn it.A big cloud of smoke prrobably comes out of the tail pipe when you accelerate.Try replacing the PCV valve. It's under that plastic cover on the top of the engine, screwed into the right rear corner of the valve cover,if you're standing in front of the car it's on your right in the back of the valve cover.
Q: a 2001 toyota corolla for a 1997 bmw 318ti can i make that trade?
i want to see if i can make that trade and the value of the corolla is more than what the bmw cost the bmw is $5,000 and the corollas value in trade in is $5,313. what should i do? i want to get that car quick
A: The BMW 318ti has a low market value because it did not sell well. It's truncated hatchback design was not too pleasing to the eye, and it was too expensive for the lack of power. Granted it was rear wheel drive and handled ok. But it was too expensive for what you paid.
The market value for the corolla is higher because it can be sold easily. It is a more reliable and practical car.
Most people and dealers would not trade out like that. It is possible if the dealer or person realizes that they could probably sell the Corolla for more money (bigger market).
I am not sure why you would want that particular BMW model...
You do realize that major replacement parts for the BMW will cost more than the value of the car.
If you think that it is faster or performs better than the Corolla then take a look at the specs...
The 2001 Corolla weighs about the same or less than the 97 BMWti. It has almost the same h.p. giving up only 13 h.p. to the Bimmer. And it gets better gas milage than the Bimmer.
Sport Compact Car Magazine once outfitted the Corolla with TRD shocks, springs, muffler, intake and short throw shifter. They posted over 70 mph going through the slalom. and pulled big numbers in lateral gs. (can't remember off hand). But the numbers compared well with bigger sport cars.
There are also turbo/supercharger kits that you can get for the Corolla engine or even drop in the 180 h.p. monster from the Celica.
If you want a Bimmer there are much better choices. And if you are looking for performance you would be suprised what the Corolla can do. It is only in America that the Corolla is detuned, In Japan and Europe there are performance models of the Corolla that hang with some of the bigger boys.
In my opinion a 5 speed Corolla with tuned suspension, brakes and minor engine upgrades would run circles around a 1997 BMWti.
Q: How do you remove a radio from a 2001 Toyota Corolla?
Can someone help? Can someone right me a good how-to or link me to one?
A: I am not sure on how to remove a radio from a 2001 Corolla, but I know it cannot be that hard. You should purchase a Haynes Manual from an auto parts store. I has step by step instructions to do just about everything to your car. It has pictures and explanations for changing oil to removing or replacing parts, in your case. I have purchased one for every car I owned. A great investment!!
