Q: I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla CE, at what mileage do I need to change the timing chain?
A: Your timing chain does not have a set replacement schedule. It is designed to last the life of your car! (200k + miles) Unless you hear a clacking sound from the metal timing cover area - you don't have anything to worry about. Obviously if you ever have the valve cover off for any reason (Valve adjustment, valve cover gaskett replacement etc.), inspect it at that time. The only reason your timing chain should ever fail is extreme abuse to the engine or running the car without oil - both of which should damage the engine before the timing chain breaks.
Q: 2000 Toyota Corolla CE CD Player?
So I just bought a 2000 Toyota Corolla. The console has a CD button, other buttons for CD's, and the DISC logo on it, but I can't find my CD player. All I see is the tape deck. Probably a stupid question, I know, but does anyone know if I have a CD player and where it'd be? Thanks!
A: Sounds like you have and aftermarket deck. Does it say Toyota on it?

Q: Can I have different tire size for my toyota corolla 2000 CE 4-Dr Sedan?
Hi,
I have a toyota corolla 2000 CE 4-Dr Sedan. I bought this from a guy last year. He had a P185/65 R14 tire on it running for 25k miles. When I changed the tires last month, I too didn't notice the tire size inside the glove box so I had P185/65 R14 on them as well.
But the Original size recommended for my car is P175/65 R14. I noticed this a couple of days back. I'm planning to change it to P175/65 R14.
Had wrong size tires on my car would have damaged anything other than Speedometer errors?
A: No. That has nothing to do with it, as long as youre not rubbing along the sidewall you should be fine, i would put 18's on a corolla.
Q: howmuch it could cost to repl a o2 sensor in 2000 toyota corolla ce model with a mechanic in MD?
A: a o2 sensor will cost $138-$50 depending on the type and were you buy it I'm not sure how much to install but they usually charge to much
Q: 2000 Toyota Corolla CE for $4000 or 2001 Ford Focus LX for $3000?
I am looking at these 2 cars at a dealership. maybe I can lower the price, but that's what they are asking. Are those prices ok? I looked on kbb and it seems right but I'm not sure. Which of these two seems better. I have looked both up, and there are a lot of complaints with the corolla that it uses up way too much oil. The focus has other complaints, like of engine failure. Any recommendations?
Shannon why not? What should I look out for? You would recommend CL over a large dealership?
A: Get Carfax. It doesn't cost much and is worth the investment when comparing cars. Compare the mileage of the two cars and how many previous owners they've had. Carfax was really a huge help in determining which used cars were worth my time.
My friend just bought a 2000 Honda without looking at the mileage. It has 30,000 more miles (2-3 more years of driving time) than my '98 Honda.
The mileage is just as important as the actual year of the car, and the number of owners can (potentially) indicate if the car has had problems over the years and people were inclined to sell it.
Personally, I think Toyota is much better than Ford... the Corolla would probably be worth the extra $1000. Be prepared to shell out a lot of money on repairs after you buy the car, too.
Have you looked at Honda Civics and Honda Accords?
Last tip: when you're searching online for used cars in your area, don't be afraid to widen your search to a larger area. I got my car an hour away, and it was worth the drive.

Q: Will a transmission from a 2000 Toyota fit a 1997 model?
I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla CE in my backyard and I am parting it out. I was asked if the transmission from that car would fit a 1997 Toyota Corolla. I am not a mechanic so I do not know. So, would it fit?
Thank you in advance!
A: Unfortunately it will not.
Q: fitting rims to toyota corolla 2000 model?

A: try it out itll be easier
Q: Best mods on a 2000 toyota corolla?
I'm 17 and my mom gave me her white toyota corolla CE. What are some things that will make it sound, look, and run better?
A: Sport Compact Car magazine upgraded that version with TRD Toyota Racing Development lowering springs, gas struts, stainless steel muffler, and short throw kit. They also upsized the Tire and Wheels to a size 17 i believe. Their results were slalom at 71 mph... crazy agile and sticky. some five plus horsepower from the muffler. That model corrolla does not use ignition wires. It is a distributerless ignition system...it comes with Denso Iridium Plugs, be sure to replace them with Iridium because there is not better substance for spark plugs, currently.
A short ram intake would help, but only if you have a five speed, otherwise just throw in a K&N drop in air filter.
There are turbo kits, but your talking big big dollars then...
Q: Toyota Corolla 2000 Check Engine light.?
Hello, I have a toyota corolla 2000 ce.
I had a check engine light for a while, and when it was time to do the inspection, I replaced my Mass Air Flow sensor, and the problem went away, car accelaration improved a lot too.
2 weeks ago, check engine light came on again, I took out the sensor, cleaned it with Brake Cleaner spray, reset the battery.. another week past the light is on again.
What is wrong? I've heard it could be Oxygen sensor, but how can I be sure that thats it?
The car is starting up slowing laterly as well, like something is draining the battery. May I should get new spark plugs?
Thank You.
A: Without the actual code from the computer that is casuing the CEL than there is no way to tell.
Go to your local chain auto parts store(oreillys, autozone)and get the code from them, they will read them for free.
Then email me the code and I will try to help you out.
Battery life is only 3/4 years at best,so it might be something as simple as new battery,or it could be several other things.Do not just replace sensor's,you could replace them all and still not find the root cause of the sensor going bad.You must get the code from the computer or you will go broke replacing sensor's.

I have 2000 Corolla CE with factory power dor lock. Is it possible to add remote keyless entry system to this car? If so, any guide available for that, please.

Q: 2000 Corolla Rattling?
2000 Toyota Corolla CE
4-Cyl. 1.8 Liter
Auto Trans.
New Spark Plugs, Tires, o2 sensors, alignment.
My corolla makes a very loud tap tap tap noise whenever I accelerate. Also, the car rattles when I'm idling in drive but not park, neutral, etc. The rattling is so bad I'm afraid to drive the car because it sounds like the engine is just gonna give out. The check engine light is also on. Any ideas? Thank you
A: You need to take it to a mechanic, not the dealer, and have its' codes ran and find out if the flex plate is cracked.
Q: toyota 2000 ce?
l have a 2000 toyato corolla ce when is it time to change feul filter
A: Your owners manual has a timeline of recommended maintenance listed near the back of the book. It will tell you when the recommended maintenance changeout is for the fuel filter.
Q: Buying a new Toyota...Yaris, Scion, or Corolla?
I am in the market for a new Toyota. My first and only car these past nine years has been a 2000 Toyota Corolla CE. Now I've got almost 110,000 miles on it, and I want to get something new. My main concerns are gas mileage, room in the trunk, and (of course) price.
I've been really interested in cars that have the fold-flat backseats for extra trunk room. I'd love to have a car with a high enough roof to actually fit a bike in the trunk (with the seats folded down), but I know that isn't possible with the Corolla. However, I know the Corolla gets great gas mileage and it's a reliable car. The Yaris has lower HP, plus I can see how the price could get to the same level as a Corolla if you start adding extras (I want power windows/locks, a stereo with a CD player, an alarm system, etc).
The Scions look good, too, especially the new xD, but I've never really gotten to look inside one. Also, I know they can be expensive. I would like to spend around $15k. What do you think?
A: The new Scion XB 2008 it's a little more what you would want to pay, it would cost about 15,995 MSRP (give or take).. but it would have the camry engine 2.7 liter..(MPG 30 to 40) the hight and the length sould make a good fit to put a medium size bike in the back when the seats is folded down... if all else you can buy one of those after market bike holders that attach to the back of your car.
I would have suggested the Yaris Liftback, but the amount you would have to put in for all the Locks and stereo and alarm system.. all around air bag system (yep its an option... this shouldn't be but you have to pay for it) ABS... all this would probably add up to about 14,995 or 15,995 depending on what package you get. Its alot smaller then the Xb... so you can't really fit a bike in the trunk... end less its a small bike (well you can again buy one of those aftermarket bike holders) The engine is only a 1.5 Liter engine and MPG is only 26 to 36.. so you get better gas milage on the xB and a bigger engine... So yeah I would go the the new xB still.
Corolla is good too..., but you would be spending more on this car... the base model runs for 15,995 for auto locks and alarm system probably would boost it up to 16,800. so yeah it will go way over your budget.
