A: If you're not too concerned about looks, the rear bumper of a Ford F-250 will take the light out quite easily.
No, there is a bolt behind the grille and another behind the side marker light that you have to remove to get the housing out.
Q: IS 20W50 a good oil type to use in a 2000 toyota corolla?
I got into a huge argument yesterday with my g/f. One of her mechanics told her that this heavy weight of oil was good for her car. She only drives in the city or down to see me. It is a 2000 corolla with about 80k miles, and it does leak oil apparently. I recommended 10W40 and to switch to a synthetic brand for a couple of months. We live in the Los Angeles suburban area, and the warmest it gets where she is in the summer could be around 105-110, and the coolest it gets in the winter is probably 35-40. Right now it is anywhere from 45-80 degrees night-day.

Q: Why is my 2000 Toyota Corolla Seat Belt Indicator Light reversed?
The seat belt light indicator in my 2000 Corolla is working exactly the opposite from how it should. When the seat belt is not latched, the light is off. When I pull down the belt to latch it, the light starts flashing. All other lights are working fine. Nothing seems to be wrong with the seat belt. What could cause this problem?
A: My advice is either ignore the light, or if thats impossible, tuck the seatbelt clip into your pants pocket or wedge it somewhere into the seat, so that it appears your wearing it and wont get pulled over by the cops.

I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla and the check engine light has come on and the repair man told me it was the "Evaporative Emissions Control Failure" which means the vapors to be recycled and not released into the atmosphere is not working. My questions is what needs to be replaced, the gas cap? Is that usually an expensive repair job? My mechanic is researching the price from the delearship and will get back to me. I want feedback from others so any feedback would be great.
I just gpt my explination and was told it was the Charcol Canister that needs to be replaced and can only be ordered from a Toyota Dealership. The total charge he said was a little over $400.00.
A: How is your mechanic making his diagnostics? He could well be correct. But if so, an after market cap will work as well and be less costly from any Auto Parts Store.
Q: How do you adjust idling on a 2000 Toyota Corolla?
I have a corolla year 2000 and the idling seems to be a bit low. This model was produced in England-1.4, 71 kw. This occurs only when the engine is cold or hasn't been started for 4-5 days. Then after starting it stalls for 3-4 seconds and idling sets in, sometimes I need to turn the key 2times but interestingly enough sometimes it starts ok. The throttle body has just been cleaned. Would increasing idling fix the problem. Any help is highly appreciated:-)
A: I don't know if it would help but I have the same problem with my 89 corrolla and it turned out to be a bent valve that was causing the problem. Unfortunately there's not much you can do for that

Q: On average (in mileage), how often do I have to change the engine oil in my 2000 Toyota Corolla?
My Corolla is at 90k miles now, and I'm planning to change the oil, I just don't know when to. I have Chevron Delo 400 LE heavy duty motor oil SAE 15W-40, the previous owner said he changed the oil 3000 miles ago, is it time to change it again? Or do I change it in another 2000 miles?
A: I would change it now, only because that weight ,15w-40 is way to heavy for that vehicle. Normally that is used by diesels, buses, big rigs, etc. Not only is that 15w-40 the wrong oil, but it is making your engine work harder which is causing your gas consumption to go up!
You would need to check your manual, but it should be 5w-30 that you need to use, and you should always use the recommended weight for the vehicle, regardless of weather, temperature, driving habits, etc. I would recommend Mobil 1 oil. It is a synthetic so it costs more but I would say it is worth it in the long run. If you want a conventional oil, I'd go with Castrol GTX. After you have it changed now, you should be able to go 5,000 between oil changes but since it is a new car to you I'd keep an eye on the oil level to make sure it isn't burning oil faster than normal. It also doesn't hurt to carry an extra quart of oil in the trunk so if you find yourself reading low on the dipstick you can add more oil and not get caught running with a low level, which can eventually cause damage to the engine.
If I were you, I would have the engine checked for leaks. One reason why the previous owner could have been using such a heavy weight oil could be to help control the leakage, since a thicker oil won't leak out as fast. Just an idea...

When my car warm up it stops, I let it cool down and its start up. I notice when it stops there is no power to the fuel injector.
A: it may be gunked up with dirt especially if you run your car low on petrol all the time take the injectors out one at a time and carefully clean then but you must replace the O-rings too because once the injectors have been removed they will not seal properly O-rings are just a few pence from a dealer
